Message on reverse:  (cont. from 473) We dined on apples and bananas and pastries etc quite nice in their way but couldn't get a drink or a wash until half an hour ago. They also gave us some bread and bully this morning and then let us out in the town for dinner etc. Who do you think I met. My friend Frank. He's been here since Friday night. I hope we go tonight. I hate parading and waiting about doing nothing. Frank's on another boat to ours and we have to be back on board at 4.0pm. Oh my darling you have no idea how I felt and feel at leaving you. I think I never felt so sad but some consolation is to know that you love me and are thinking about me ...
